Who is Walter Rosales.
I build artificial-intelligence models and products. I work where three things meet: the mathematics, the code that trains it, and the product that puts it in someone's hands.
He holds a master's in Applied Artificial Intelligence from Tecnológico de Monterrey and a bachelor's in Technology from UNAM, with theses on corneal-ulcer segmentation using deep learning and on machine learning of microbial community assembly rules. He also holds certificates in computer science for AI and for the web from Harvard University.
Before founding iGalenus he was AI Manager and then CTO of the Instituto Mexicano de Oftalmología, where he put more than ten classification and segmentation models into clinical use and built the labelling platform for over three thousand ophthalmological images that reached more than fifty doctors across four states.
Today he is chief executive of iGalenus and responsible for technology education and training at BLOQUE, a public centre for innovation and educational technology. He also keeps four projects running in sport, literature, agents and brand, and gives free courses and workshops on practical AI, automation, and technology for children.
